Simple Steps To Train Your New Puppy

Boxer Puppy 2

A puppy is a wonderful addition to any family but they are also a big responsibility. Little puppies are just like children and they need attention, love and someone to guide them and train them on how to act on a day to day basis. Here are some simple tips on things that you can start doing right away to help your puppy get the proper puppy training it needs and deserves.

House Training

Training your new puppy to use the bathroom outside will take some time and a lot of patience. The first thing you will need to do is to get puppy pads and place them in one spot. These puppy pads are designed to attract the dog to them to use the restroom when needed. Second, you will want to get a kennel to put the puppy in when you are away from your home and at night. Getting your new puppy on a schedule will help keep the accidents down to a minimum. Whenever you take the puppy out of the kennel you want to take it directly outside. Don’t wait five or ten minutes do it right away. You will have to continue to take the puppy outside to use the restroom about every forty five minutes to an hour throughout the day to get the dog on a regular schedule.

Chew Toys

As the puppy gets about three to four months old they will start to have a very urgent urge to chew on things and if you don’t give it chew toys it will choose anything that it sees in the house to chew such as your shoes or couch. This stage usually last for about six to eight months so be prepared and always make sure that you give it plenty of chew toys.
